Fitness MCP servers
MCP Servers for Fitness Data: Official Options and STAS
MCP is the connection that lets ChatGPT or Claude read an outside service. For fitness data there are several official options on 6 November 2026: the Intervals.icu connector, the Strava connection to Claude, and the COROS MCP server. This page compares what each option can and cannot do, and shows when STAS, which works on top of Intervals.icu with any watch, is the better fit.
Connect Intervals.icu dataSTAS starts free, no credit card. A custom connector in ChatGPT or Claude depends on your ChatGPT or Claude plan.
Short answer
If your workouts already live in one service and its limits suit you, the official connector is enough. If you want ChatGPT and Claude on one saved context, any watch brand, a ready summary of your history, and a plan written to the calendar after your confirmation, STAS does that on top of Intervals.icu.
- ✓Intervals.icu has its own connector for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok. It can add, move and delete workouts in the Intervals.icu calendar after your confirmation.
- ✓Strava gives subscribers an official connection to Claude and, in the US only, to Gemini. It is read-only, and there is no official Strava connection to ChatGPT.
- ✓COROS has an official MCP server: it reads your data and can create plans and workouts for ChatGPT and Claude.
- ✓Amazfit has announced an MCP in its roadmap; on 6 November 2026 it is not released. Unofficial Zepp servers exist, but Zepp does not support them.
- ✓STAS connects any watch that sends workouts to Intervals.icu, such as Garmin, COROS, Polar, Suunto, Huawei or Amazfit, to both ChatGPT and Claude with one saved context.
First useful action
Your watch data becomes useful only after it reaches the coaching conversation
Garmin, Apple Watch, and other devices send the training record to Intervals.icu. STAS turns it into context for ChatGPT or Claude.
Connect the source of truth
Intervals.icu keeps workouts, calendar, load, zones, and recent history in one place.
Let AI see real context
STAS prepares that data so ChatGPT or Claude can answer from your actual training, not a pasted summary.
Ask for the next decision
Start with a clear analysis or action: recovery check, missed workout, next week, or one session to adjust.
STAS reads only the training data you approve through Intervals.icu. Start with one practical question: current condition, a workout review, or what to change next.
Connect Intervals.icu dataOptions compared
The options differ in availability, data coverage and capabilities. Check the limits against what you want from the AI.
Intervals.icu Connector
Pros: official connector for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok; it can add, move and delete calendar workouts after your confirmation. Cons: needs the Supporter plan ($4 a month on 6 November 2026); ChatGPT only in the web version through Plugins → Add custom MCP server; Gemini only in the browser; writing through Grok has not been tested; workouts that arrive from Strava are visible only by date; it reads up to 12 months of history.
Strava
Pros: official connection for Strava subscribers. Cons: Claude only (Gemini in the US only), read-only, and there is no official connection to ChatGPT.
COROS MCP
Pros: official server from COROS; it reads your data and can create plans of 4–16 weeks starting within the next 14 days, plus workouts up to 90 days ahead; it works with ChatGPT and Claude.
Unofficial Zepp and Amazfit servers
Amazfit announced an MCP in its roadmap; on 6 November 2026 it is not released. Unofficial Zepp and Amazfit servers exist, but they are not supported by Zepp and may stop working without warning.
STAS
Pros: one account and one saved context for ChatGPT and Claude; works with any watch that sends workouts to Intervals.icu, including Garmin, COROS, Polar, Suunto, Huawei and Amazfit; a ready summary of your history, goals and profile; the plan is written to the calendar after your confirmation. Cons: needs an Intervals.icu account and a watch connected to Intervals.icu directly; a custom connector in ChatGPT or Claude depends on your ChatGPT or Claude plan.
When the official option is enough, and when STAS is needed
There is no single winner here. Match the option to the watch on your wrist and the AI app you actually use.
- ✓The official connector is enough if your workouts already sit in one service, you accept its limits, and you use the AI apps it supports. The Intervals.icu connector covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok but needs the Supporter plan ($4 a month on 6 November 2026).
- ✓The Strava connection to Claude is enough if you only want to ask Claude about your Strava history and do not need ChatGPT or plan writing.
- ✓The COROS MCP is enough if you train on COROS and want plans and workouts created by the official server.
- ✓STAS is the better fit if your watch can be any brand, you want ChatGPT and Claude on one saved context, you need a ready summary of your training history, and you want the plan written to the Intervals.icu calendar only after your confirmation.
- ✓You can keep both: official connections and STAS are separate setups and work side by side.
Steps: start with STAS
STAS works on top of Intervals.icu, so the first steps are about getting your workouts there.
- 1Create an Intervals.icu account and connect your watch brand to it directly.
- 2Open Activities in Intervals.icu and check that a recent workout shows pace, heart rate and laps.
- 3Sign in to STAS with the same Intervals.icu account.
- 4Add STAS in ChatGPT or Claude as shown below.
- 5In the chat, ask the AI to update your data, then name your last workout.
Connect STAS to ChatGPT or Claude
ChatGPT and Claude use the same STAS data. Sign in with the Intervals.icu account that receives your workouts.
ChatGPT
- 1Open chatgpt.com on a computer, in a browser. Turn on Developer mode: Settings → Security and login → Developer mode.
- 2Go to Plugins, select + and choose Add custom MCP server.
- 3In Name, enter STAS. Keep Server URL and paste https://stas.run/api/mcp. In Authentication, choose OAuth.
- 4Tick I understand and want to continue and select Create. When ChatGPT asks you to sign in, use Intervals.icu.
- 5In a chat, type @, select STAS and ask your question.
No Developer mode or Add custom MCP server in your ChatGPT? Use the older option, STAS GPT. It opens as a separate chat, runs on an older ChatGPT model and is no longer updated.
Claude
- 1In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- 2Paste the STAS connector URL: https://stas.run/api/mcp.
- 3Finish the sign-in through Intervals.icu with the same account.
- 4Enable STAS in the chat and ask Claude to update your data first.
Connect your workouts to ChatGPT and Claude
One STAS account, any watch through Intervals.icu, the same saved context in both AI apps.
Connect STASSTAS starts free, no credit card. A custom connector in ChatGPT or Claude depends on your ChatGPT or Claude plan.
How to check that it works
Verify with a real workout, not only the connection screen.
- 1Ask the AI to update your data, then name your last workout with date, duration and average heart rate.
- 2Compare the answer with Activities in Intervals.icu.
- 3If a workout shows only by date, it arrived through Strava. Reconnect that watch to Intervals.icu directly.
- 4Record a new workout and check that it appears in the chat without manual steps.
What the AI can and cannot see
What the AI sees through STAS
- ✓Workouts that reached Intervals.icu from your watch, with the details Intervals.icu has.
- ✓Your calendar, goals, profile and rules saved in STAS.
- ✓Wellness data when your watch sends it to Intervals.icu.
What it does not see
- ✓Details of workouts that arrived in Intervals.icu through Strava, only their date.
- ✓Data from services STAS is not connected to.
- ✓Anything you did not record or sync.
STAS reads only data you approve through Intervals.icu. How STAS handles it is described in the privacy policy.
How STAS differs from a direct connector
An official connector gives an AI access to one service. STAS adds the following on top of your Intervals.icu data.
One STAS account for every watch brand
Add the same STAS connector to ChatGPT and to Claude, and both work with the same saved context.
Context, not raw data
The AI gets a ready summary of load, workouts, wellness, profile, goals and rules, so answers rest on your own history.
The plan returns to the calendar
After you confirm, the plan is written to your calendar, and from there to the watch where the brand supports it.
A convenient interface instead of manual setup
No terminal or API keys. Profile and settings on the site, reports in Telegram, start without a card.
Frequently asked questions
What is an MCP server, in simple words?
MCP is a way for ChatGPT or Claude to read an outside service through a connector. A fitness MCP server lets the AI see your workouts, and sometimes write plans back, without you copying numbers by hand.
Is there a Garmin MCP server?
For Garmin watches, STAS works through Intervals.icu: connect Garmin to Intervals.icu directly and STAS gives ChatGPT and Claude your real workout details. See the Garmin setup guide.
Can I combine an official connector with STAS?
Yes. They are separate connections. You can use the Intervals.icu connector, the Strava connection to Claude or the COROS MCP, and still add STAS to work with the same data in both ChatGPT and Claude.
Which option should I choose for my watch?
Check the comparison above for your brand. If your watch sends workouts to Intervals.icu, STAS covers it: Garmin, COROS, Polar, Suunto, Huawei, Amazfit and others.
How much does it cost?
STAS: start free, no credit card. A custom connector in ChatGPT or Claude depends on your ChatGPT or Claude plan. The Intervals.icu AI connector is included in the Supporter plan ($4 a month on 6 November 2026).
