How to Connect Garmin to ChatGPT for AI Running Coaching

Your Garmin records everything — pace, heart rate, training load, VO2max, recovery. But ChatGPT can't see any of it. Here's how to bridge the gap and get a real AI coach that uses your actual Garmin data.

Connect for free

Why connect your Garmin to ChatGPT?

Garmin watches collect some of the most detailed training data available. But that data stays locked in Garmin Connect — invisible to ChatGPT. When you connect through STAS, your AI coach sees everything your watch recorded.

  • Real pace and distance data — not guesses or averages you type from memory
  • Heart rate zones and training load — so the AI knows how hard each session really was
  • CTL/ATL/TSB fitness trends — track your form, fatigue, and readiness over weeks and months
  • Sleep score, Body Battery, and recovery metrics — context that changes what tomorrow's workout should be

How to set it up (5 minutes)

Garmin syncs directly with Intervals.icu — no Strava needed. The data chain is automatic: every workout flows from your watch to ChatGPT without manual input.
